So I for some reason, I find it to be such a nuisance when I have to change my watch to match the new time zone when I travel. It's really not that difficult, but it always takes a few minutes to figure out. SOOO, imagine my joy when I realized that, though I am going to the other side of the world, I don't have to change my watch! How cool is that?? It's a 12 hour time difference in Thailand... so 9 am will now mean 9 pm. I find that positively extraordinary. Oh, and also I will miss July 1 almost completely because of travel, and I will live August 4 twice! Quite uncanny.
Have I mentioned lately how excited I am about this trip? Like if you took all the excitement out of my body and wrapped it around the earth, it would circle the globe 84 times.
We had a little get-together slash prayer meeting the other night with some of the team, and it was so good to get to know some peeps that I will be serving with. Some of the girls made up a prayer calendar to give to friends and family while we are gone, so email me if you would like me to get you one! We would really appreciate your prayers.
And I'm super excited that Miriam and I get to see Emily's face in, oh, about 12 days!!! First order on the agenda? Jump up and down and squeal like little girls in excitement. Berjingkrak-jingkrak is how you say that in Indonesian. It has now been about a year since I have seen a three dimensional Emily M! My long lost roomie and I shall be reunited! Although she hasn't really been lost, I suppose. Just misplaced. But not misplaced either. Just really really far away. And greatly missed.
And the last random blurb for the day: The movie "The King and I" is apparently outlawed in Thailand. You are not allowed to own a copy, as it is seen as an insult to Thai culture. Interesting, eh?
Woah, the movie is basically illegal over there?! Crazy! I'm so excited for you to embark on this adventure, CAR - it will be awesome, for sure. I can't wait to see how the Lord works in and through you. And, I would LOVE a prayer calendar; I'll email you, too :) Much love!
